Radio Accessories

Batteries, speaker mics, programming cables, power supplies and mounts for the radios in this store, each on its own shelf with its own page. Use the radio filter to see what fits yours. Batteries and belt clips are usually model-specific, while speaker mics and cables often work across a brand's lineup.

A programming cable is worth having on day one. Free software like CHIRP can load a whole list of repeater channels in minutes, instead of keying them in by hand.

Questions

Which programming cable do I need?

The one made for your radio's connector. Check the radio filter or the product's compatibility list. Many Baofeng and BTECH radios work with the free CHIRP software.

What is a battery eliminator?

A dummy battery that powers a handheld from a vehicle's 12-volt outlet or another DC source, so you can run the radio without draining or carrying spare batteries.

What power supply does a mobile radio need?

A regulated 13.8-volt DC supply rated above the radio's transmit current. A 50-watt mobile typically draws 10 to 12 amps on transmit, so a 20-amp supply leaves headroom.
