Latest release
1.18.0
October 15, 2026
Our advice: Update to 1.18.0, the newest release. MeshCore's GitHub releases carry no alpha or beta label, so the newest numbered release is the current build for companions, repeaters and room servers alike. The new companion CLI in 1.18.
How MeshCore Releases Work
- Each version ships as three firmwares: companion, repeater and room server. Flash the one that matches what the node does.
- Releases carry no alpha or beta label. A new version has come out every one to two months in 2026, with point releases like 1.17.1 for urgent fixes.
- Since 1.15, the full change log is a post on the MeshCore blog.
To update, use the web flasher. Our firmware guide covers each update method and what to do if a flash fails. For community low-power builds, see the EasySkyMesh release tracker.

Firmware Version FAQ
What is the latest MeshCore firmware?
The latest release is 1.18.0, from October 15, 2026. It covers companion, repeater and room server firmware.
How do I update MeshCore firmware?
Use the web flasher at flasher.meshcore.io in Chrome or Edge with the device plugged in over USB. Since 1.15, nRF52 boards can also update over the air. Our firmware guide walks through both and how to recover from a failed flash.
Where are the MeshCore release notes?
Since 1.15, on the MeshCore blog at blog.meshcore.io, linked from each GitHub release. Notes for older versions are on the GitHub release pages.
Why are there three builds for each version?
MeshCore ships separate firmware for each job a node can do: companion (pairs with your phone), repeater (relays traffic) and room server (stores messages for a group). They share a version number and usually come out the same day.
